The Yard
There has been a boatyard on this site for many years, and before the leisure boating revolution, the tidal land where the boatyard now stands was home to many of the local fishing and commercial boats.

The present boatyard business has been operating on the site since the 1960's and has developed to keep pace with boatowners needs over the years
The yard has changed a great deal, even over the last few years, with the addition of protective 'rock armour', a new concrete jetty and a regular coating of gravel to keep things clean. This modernisation has given the yard more capacity and a safer environment for all those who use the facility.

We have made a great effort over our five years of ownership to make the yard a nice place to be for all our customers and we are pleased with the response we are getting to each improvement as it happens. For 2009 we are operating a longer Park & Launch season to our customers, allowing them almost eight months of on the water time. We have of course had to alter the way the business operates to do this by limiting the numbers and type of yachts that we look after, but this in turn allows us to devote more time to getting each yacht ready for the water and ultimately gives the owner more enjoyment.
Our main aim is to offer hassle free boating in a friendly and family oriented yard.
The People
After moving to the area in 2002 Tim Long took over at Abersoch Boatyard Services in June 2004. Since that time he has invested in bettering the facility for its customers and also streamlining the boat handling operations allowing larger boats into the yard and giving the yard extra capacity.
Tim studied a boatbuilding and management course at Southampton where he graduated with a distinction in 2001. He has been involved with the marine industry for some 14 years, during which time he has worked with some prestigious companies to good advantage. He has also managed to maintain his hobby as a keen sailor and has raced a wide variety of boats from lasers to Whitbread 60's.
Emily, Tim's wife is usually the first person that people speak to at the yard and she is also our accounts manager. Emily enjoys knitting and painting by numbers in her spare time.
Huw Hughes - Huw is the newest member of the team here at the yard and worked locally before joining us in June 2008. He is multi talented and will turn his hand to any job. In his spare time Huw enjoys shooting and fishing as well as being a local firefighter.
